Stating the obvious here: Everything in 2020 is so different and racing is no exception! How bad do you miss it? I know opinions vary, but I am really starting to miss the race morning routines, getting up early, eating my pre-race breakfast and heading out the door. In Louisville, the running community is close knit and you were sure to get a few hugs and high-fives as you lined up in the corral pre-COVID19!
While racing has been paused, many race directors had the chance to regroup and reorganize in order to put on a safer racing experience for their runners. While I have not been racing, I’ve been watching races across the United States and it is interesting to see the changes/improvements made related to runner safety. The Urban Bourbon Half Marathon in Louisville, KY is one of those races. As of today, the race is still a GO for in real life (IRL) racing. This was the latest we received in their August newsletter:
